Intertek is searching for a Routine Core Analysis Supervisor to join our team in Houston, Texas.


The Routine Core Analysis Supervisor position is responsible for day-to-day supervision and scheduling of the RCA lab.   Regular coordination of activities with Program Managers and other laboratory areas to ensure client timelines are met is essential.


What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to an effective safety program by promoting a safety conscious attitude on the part of all employees, ensuring that safe work practices are followed, and that a safe and clean work environment is maintained.
  • Provides leadership and emphasizes importance of safety and environmental programs by monitoring completion of safety concerns, attends required safety and environmental meetings, and supporting plant's goals
  • Promotes productivity and teamwork with open communication, timely decision making, and use of personal leadership skills to set high standards of performance while providing the direction necessary to achieve that performance.
  • Provides regular feedback to employees on their performance to allow them to capitalize on their strengths and focus on opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures work performed by external service providers is in support of objectives, responsibilities, and contractual agreement
  • Train existing employees and perform wellsite core preservation.  Assist as needed and otherwise facilitate rock shop activities to ensure RCA objectives and goals are met. 
  • Perform sample chemical extractions and saturation calculations, particle size analysis, ultra-violet and white-light photography, computerized tomography, routine permeability, porosity, and density measurements, nano permeability and micro porosity measurements, data qc and reporting.
  • Assist with sales and business development as needed.


What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Degree in Geologic Sciences preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of Routine Core Analysis or related industrial experience.
  • Multi-lingual language skills.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing and correcting problems, as well as experience with diagnostic testing procedures and repair practices.
  • Ability to follow explicit instructions.
  • Good oral and written communications, administrative capabilities and planning and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills to supervise, direct, motivate, train and discipline subordinate personnel.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others including operators, vendors, contractors, subordinates, peers, and superiors.
  • Ability to perform equipment inspections, work extended hours and promptly respond to emergency call-ins.
  • Must have ability to wear the protective equipment used in production facilities as required by federal and state safety and health standards.
  • Must possess or be able to promptly obtain the appropriate vehicle operator's license.
