The Building Science Solutions (BSS) Group within Intertek’s Building and Construction is recruiting a Project Manager/PCA Assessor. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background and interest in existing building assessments. They should also have an interest in leading project teams, developing a client base, building the local BSS team, and contributing technically to our overall, international, BSS team.

Responsibilities will include project management of small to medium-sized projects. The work will primarily include Property Condition Assessments (PCA) per ASTM E2018. Additional responsibilities may include building enclosure consulting for new design and the evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for existing buildings.  Must maintain professional relationships and involvement in their field of technical expertise through professional associations, committee work, and industry involvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Property Condition Assessments (PCA) per ASTM E 2018-15
  • Construction Draw Review Inspections
  • Client/Project Management
  • Conducts site visits/inspections (periodic travel required)
  • Data compilation/organization and report preparation
  • Assist other BSS projects to meet project workload / demand

Qialifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or other construction related program plus 3+ years of industry experience, preferred
  • Property Condition Assessment (PCA) experience per ASTM E 2018-15
  • Field experience with diverse building types
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to efficiently work on projects independently and in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
  • Ability to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, roofs, etc.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to travel outside local area, depending on local work load and project locations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening

Preferred Qualifiations:

  • Approximately 5+ years of experience performing PCA’s
  • Phase I ESA experience
  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or other construction related program plus 3+ years of industry experience, preferred
  • Technical knowledge of building construction
  • Professional registration or ability to obtain registration
  • Field experience or strong interest in working onsite
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
  • Certified Infrared Thermographer
  • Exterior wall and roof moisture scanning experience (infrared, capacitance, or nuclear)
  • Consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team
