Project Geotechnical Engineer - Construction

PSI, an Intertek Company, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification) Services, is looking for a Project Geotechnical Engineer - Contruction to join our Building and Construction team in Cleveland, OH.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Determination of geotechnical subsurface materials in order to prepare geotechnical reports
  • Review and supervise field and laboratory work
  • Perform geotechnical calculations for various applications
  • Geotechnical proposal preparation
  • Project management and billing
  • Review and implementation of project specifications and contracts
  • Interface with clients


Essential Requirements & Qualifications


  • B.S Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Geotechnical Engineering experience preferred
  • Experience in geotechnical report preparation and development of appropriate geotechnical recommendations.
  • Strong background in soil mechanics with extensive knowledge of geotechnical analysis and laboratory testing of soil.
  • Capable of conducting and supervising field exploration activities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, both written and verbal
  • Ability to mentor and supervise junior and staff engineers
  • Proof of Clean Driving Record



Physical Requirements


  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
  • Ability to climb occasionally
